MEET THE OWNER

Jamie Silverman, the owner of The Little Speech Clinic, LLC, is a licensed speech-language pathologist devoted to helping children reach their fullest potential. Jamie’s clinical experiences have included work in clinic-based, elementary school, and home settings, evaluating and treating children 1 to 16 years old with a variety of disorders. Jamie has had extensive experience working with children with articulation disorders, phonological disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, receptive/expressive language delays, autism, and pragmatic language disorders.

 

Jamie is trained in PROMPT© (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets), which is a multidimensional approach to speech sound disorders. She has also had training in Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing for speech motor learning (DTTC) and the K-SLP© Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol for children with apraxia of speech. Jamie is dedicated 

to individualizing her therapy sessions to focus on her clients’ strengths to best support opportunities for growth. Jamie is also passionate about educating parents and helping families understand their child's communicative needs.

 

Jamie received her bachelor's degree in Psychology and Linguistics from the University of Michigan and her master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Northwestern University. She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is a credentialed Illinois Early Intervention provider. Jamie is a recipient of ASHA’s ACE Award for excellence in continuing education, reflecting her dedication to professional learning beyond an academic degree.
